Sonnet by Maria Rosario Guayco

Work

Let me do my work from day to day
In the field or forest, at the desk or loom,
In roaring marketplace or tranquil room;
Let me but find it in my heart to say
When the vagrant wishes become astray.
"This is my work, my blessing not my doom;
Of all who live, I am the one by whom
This work can be best done in the right way."
Then shall I see it not to great nor small
To suit my spirit and prove my powers;
Then I shall cheerfully greet the blabbing hows
And cheerfully turn, when the long shadow falls
At the evening, to play and love the rest,
Because I know, for me, my work is best

Acceptance

Sometimes I wonder if there's someone out there
Whose personality is just like mine
Maybe our eyes, our cheeks, our hair and everything else
Maybe she's just like me
No difference, just like me
And then I thought, "No, that wouldn't be right,"
That someone in the world would be like me
Because God made me everyone different from you and me.
We're all unique in our own way
Let's just accept this given to us.
Make everybody count and be free
Show no fear and share it to everyone
You don't have to be afraid of who you are
Because, that's something you have to be proud of.

Lymmeric by Maria Rosario Guayco

One gloomy day, I was under a tree,
Feeling unhappy and unfree.
But someone made smile,
In every mile.
So, now I feel very glee.

Acrostic by Maria Rosario Guayco

M- Many have told me I am a cheerful person and always have a smile on my face

A- A little bit loud and crazy at times but knows her limits

R- Really talkative and hyper to be around

U- Understanding and values her family very dearly

Haiku by Maria Rosario Guayco

Five syllables here.
And then you add seven more.
And now five. Happy?
